Welcome to ExpenseLens. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ExpenseLens mobile application and web application (collectively, the "Service") operated by Lumvex Labs, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction)
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, or have parental or guardian consent
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

2.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

2.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3. The Service

3.1 Description

ExpenseLens is an expense tracking and receipt management application that allows you to:

  • Capture and store receipt images
  • Track and categorize expenses
  • Generate expense reports
  • Access your data across mobile and web platforms

3.2 AI-Powered Features

The Service uses artificial intelligence to automatically extract information from receipt images, including merchant names, dates, amounts, and line items. While we strive for accuracy, AI-extracted data may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all expense data.

3.3 Availability

We strive to maintain Service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for new users. At the end of the trial period, you will be charged for the subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

4.2 Subscription Plans

Access to premium features requires a paid subscription. Subscription details, including pricing and features, are available in the mobile application.

4.3 Billing

  • Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Payment is processed by the respective app store platform via RevenueCat
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings

4.4 Web Application Access

A valid mobile app subscription grants you access to the ExpenseLens web application at no additional cost. Web access is tied to your subscription status and will be revoked if your subscription ends.

4.5 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

4.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will not affect your current subscription period but will apply upon renewal. We will provide advance notice of price changes.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including receipt images, expense data, and other materials ("User Content").

5.2 License to Us

By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, store, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your User Content or account.

5.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading

5.4 Data Accuracy

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of User Content you upload. ExpenseLens is designed for both business expense management and personal expense tracking, and may be used to maintain financial records for tax or accounting purposes. However, we do not guarantee compliance with specific tax regulations or accounting standards. Consult a qualified professional for tax and accounting advice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited communications
  • Circumvent any usage limits or access restrictions
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Lumvex Labs, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.

7.2 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 "As Is" Basis

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy

We do not guarantee that AI-extracted data from receipts will be accurate, complete, or error-free. You are responsible for verifying all data before relying on it.

9.3 Not Financial Advice

While ExpenseLens may be used for business expense management and tax record-keeping, the Service does not provide financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The Service is not a substitute for professional financial guidance.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUMVEX LABS, INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL
  • ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lumvex Labs, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your User Content
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Term and Termination

12.1 Term

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service.

12.2 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@lumvexlabs.com or through the account settings in the app.

12.3 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

12.4 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may delete your account and User Content
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Sections 7, 9, 10, 11, and 14)

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting updated Terms in the Service
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending you a notification (for material changes)

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@lumvexlabs.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

14.3 Arbitration

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in Virginia, United States. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

14.4 Exceptions

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in court for matters related to intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lumvex Labs, Inc. regarding the Service.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
